How did you manage to present the synodal document in your parish?
František: Right on the Sunday after my return, I visited all three services in Manětín, Křečov, and Plasy, where I tried to convey the course of the meeting in Germany. I wanted to share with people that the diocesan synod assembly was, for me, primarily a four-day intensive meeting with the Lord. I felt how connected we are with Him in prayer, in mutual relationships, and due to the wonderful location of the retreat house, also in the surrounding nature. I was very pleased with the friendly atmosphere that prevailed in Johannisthal, and even though we have different opinions, we approach each other with mutual respect and strive to find a common path. After all, our goal is the same: to bring Jesus' good news to the people. I recommended that everyone read the final document, which they can find on the synod's website, as it accurately describes the situation in which we find ourselves. It also captures the diversity of life in various places within our diocese. It can also serve as a source of inspiration when searching for new paths.
How are you experiencing the diocesan synod in your parish?
Josef: In our parish, or rather in the parishes administered by the Oblates, we have the advantage of having several synodal delegates and members of the synodal council, so we try to support each other. In Dolní Bělá, when we meet for example at Sunday breakfast after mass, we often come across various synodal topics and discuss them. Now, as the second phase begins, we are preparing a meeting to familiarize the parishioners with its progress, and we will plan together with them meetings on the topics we will address.
