The January meeting of the synod delegates began with a joint celebration of the Eucharist. Afterwards, Bishop Tomáš presented the timeline of the II. synodal stage – which all delegates could comment on, and their suggestions will be incorporated. From March to May, a listening phase will take place in the parishes. Delegates received information about what they will focus on in the discussion groups within the diocese.
During February, a theological group will be formed, whose task is to theologically reflect on the discussed synodal topics, work together with the synodal team to develop synodal materials, and be available to the delegates. This group will be led by General Vicar Petr Hruška in collaboration with P. ThLic. Pavel Frývaldský, Th.D., P.doc. Michal Kaplánek, SDB, Th.D. If you are interested in becoming part of this group, please write to synoda@bip.cz and the synodal team will contact you.
After the lunch break, there was a brainstorming session in the synodal groups regarding the theme – what we, as synodal delegates, would need in the next phase. The entire meeting was conducted in a very positive atmosphere, which built upon our shared experience in autumn 2024 in Johannisthal.
Documents from Saturday can be downloaded here:
- synoda.bip.cz/vize (Inspiration for creating a shared vision of the diocese)
- synoda.bip.cz/6temat (working formulations of six topics to address)
- synoda.bip.cz/prezentace (for graph lovers 😉)
- synoda.bip.cz/podnety (record of suggestions from groups regarding the progress of the 2nd stage)
We are still processing the thematic part, timeline, and output from Saturday's groups.
We continue to draw from the Final Document of the I. stage of the diocesan synod Master, where do you live? (https://synoda.bip.cz/dokument) and from the Final Document of the World Synod on Synodality For a synodal church (synoda.bip.cz/synoda-o-synodalite).
