Three tips for the work of synod delegates in areas to address
In the attached video, check out a few practical tips from Martin Fojtíček for working in selected areas to address:
Summary of the content presented in the video:
0. CONTEXT: It is important to be aware of the broader context and continuity of shared discernment during the II stage of the diocesan synod, the gospel, the message of Pope Francis, and the final document of the worldwide Synod on Synodality (see synoda.bip.cz/vize).
1. DELEGATES: This year, the “key figures” of diocesan consultations are the delegates, from whom we expect THEIR OWN proposals for solutions to selected areas (they are not, as last year, merely “intermediaries” of voices from the groups, but are rather “creators” who send their own proposals).
2. TASK: When processing the selected “areas to address”, it is important to respond to the task assignment in the box on the worksheet of the selected area (this will help you focus on the addressed area and not to digress too broadly; you can find the worksheets at synoda.bip.cz/oblasti).
3. FORM: For processing, it is necessary to use the Form for processing the selected area and submit it by the end of May to synoda@bip.cz (in the form, delegates will find the briefest possible “instructions for use” for processing the selected area).
Other practical tips and resources:
- Shared space for delegates on OneDrive (here you will find mainly an Excel sheet with an overview of who is working on what)
- Main navigator synoda.bip.cz/timeline (basic orientation in your tasks, from where you can go further)
- Areas to address synoda.bip.cz/oblasti (here you can find a graphically processed .PDF for download + a click-through system suitable for mobile)
- Form for processing synoda.bip.cz/formular (here you can find the form you should use for processing your proposal for the selected area)
- Working with the group synoda.bip.cz/synodniskupiny (here you will find practical questions and answers for working with the synodal group)
For further inspiration (expansion of the first point of the video):
- Synodal groups (of any kind) this year are to serve delegates for inspiration in THEIR OWN creation of proposals for solutions to selected areas.
- In THEIR OWN creation of proposals for solutions to selected areas, delegates can also join with other delegates across the diocese (even in online groups) and create their own or a joint proposal.
- This year we do not want delegates to send “records” of what was said in synodal groups, but THEIR OWN proposals for solutions to selected areas (records from the groups can be attached as an appendix to the form for their own processing of the selected area).
- People in the diocese are important for the synod this year as well, but “only” as a source of inspiration for synod delegates and THEIR OWN discernment, not as “voices” that we are gathering “through synod delegates.”
